Appreciate the Change

December 5, 2016

I found myself scrolling through Facebook one morning when I came across a status from a friend. It was a list comparing how she was in 1995 and now. When I asked her to give me a year to compare, she chose 2012. Looking back at the years that have gone by and comparing the successes of then and now, is such an amazing way to appreciate the change. So, for this post, I thought I'd see how much time has changed

Styling a Sweater and a Button Up this Winter

November 16, 2015

Winter breezes have finally arrived east and the need to switch on the AC every time I walk in a room has been dispatched. The first day out and about with the winter breeze blowing, it was time to whip out my old sweaters. Layering it on top of one of my favorite summer staples; my floral button up shirt, olive green jeans, and of course, floral shoes. Now that's what I call Earth Toned.

It's has a very laid back and casual feel to it. Since I didn't button up all the way with the sweater being quite loose on the collar, I left a few buttons free and added a tiny necklace to show off my neckline.

All I'm excited about this winter are the twinklings lights, cozy sweaters, and Starbucks' Toffee Nut Latte–which I'm still waiting on by the way. What're you excited about this winter?

Enjoy the winter breezes and keep those smiles bright!

Fabulous Blues and Florals

April 13, 2015

This weekend has been filled with many concerts and events. Okay, fine. Not that many. Maybe just a couple. But I swayed, jumped around, and whipped my hair back and forth just like what a regular 21-year-old is supposed to be doing. It was a pretty awesome weekend and I'm so grateful that I spent it with a bunch of amazing people.

For the past couple of days, I wanted to dress in something comfortable but fabulous. I felt like wearing a dress, but I wanted to change up my usual blue dress into something a little flowy and free to help me deal with this exciting weekend. So I put a floral tank top over this dress, tied the knot like I usually do and BOOM!

This look was something I threw on at 7am in the morning for breakfast with a bunch of toastmasters. To be honest, I literally got up and contemplated what I should wear for the day while I was in the shower. Spent an extra 10 minutes in there to finally decide.

Does it look a little sloppy? Yeah, kind of.
Did I go out like this? Yes, I did, and I felt FABULOUS!

On the side note, I will be traveling to the Philippines for a while and the one thing I'm most excited about is taking outfit photos with a completely different environment, and wearing shorts. The next few posts will of my adventures.

What was everyone up to this week?
Enjoying Coachella?

Dog Father Barbecue | Blogmas

December 6, 2014

Blogmas Day 6

A bunch of us went to a Barbecue that was hosted by Bahrain's dog father, Tony. It was the first time any of us went to an BBQ without knowing at least half the people attending – well it was the first for me. It can get pretty awkward just standing around, looking at other people conversing, while you're just sipping your drink. Awkward and lonely. I'm glad we went in a group.

We spent most of our time with the animals. Giving them treats, petting them, and going "awwwh" every now and then like the girls we are. It felt peaceful being around all the dogs, cats, and other animals Tony cares for. It was nice giving the animals treats and getting attacked by them – like literally, once the treats came out, all the cats and/or dogs attacked.

I decided to go for something very casual and warm-ish, since I know I'll be touching cats and dogs all day. And since I didn't want to bring anything fancy, just incase something happens, I brought the tote I bought from the last time I went to the Philippines – like three years ago.

Have a jolly day everyone!

Just You: Arpitha Sylvester

November 20, 2014
Just You, is a little project where a bunch of my favorite people with awesome styles get featured on this platform of mine. This is a week long project that will go on until Friday, 21st November.
The awesome people being featured were asked to style an outfit that makes them feel good and confident about being themselves, and in their own skin. They are to style an outfit that screams out THEM!

Arpitha from Break Free Girl – a blog that has all kind of tips, tricks, and fun articles on fashion, beauty, health and lifestyle. I love how Arpitha's look is so comfy and free in this photo, plus I adore the scarf and the teal top.

Please make way for Arpitha!

I love tunics and scarfs and in India that is the most common style of dressing you will see. I chose this outfit because it just screams me. I feel super comfortable in this outfit. This has always been my go to outfit when I am confused. This is something my readers do not know about me. I am that kind that has to be comfortable in my clothes at least in my everyday life and I believe that being happy and free is the way to live no matter what others think!

She's right. Being happy and free is the way to live. It will definitely get you through hard times.
Do you all agree?

Don't forget to check out Break Free Girl for awesome tip and tricks, and fun articles on fashion, beauty and more!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Feeling Sporty

November 14, 2014

Today, I bring to you all a sporty outfit. Yoga has filled up my days these past few weeks and that's mostly what I've been thinking about lately. If you follow me on Pinterest, I apologize for spamming your feed with yoga poses, I need to keep track of what I can do, and what I want to achieve. After kind of perfecting the crow pose, I'm trying to work my way up to an elbow/hand stand.

I bought these quite unflattering jogging pants earlier this week. They make my thighs and hips look big, it hurts me to look at them, but they sure are loose, comfortable, warm, and perfect for a winter run or yoga. Do you guys work out? Have you gone to the gym or for a nice run lately?

Awesome news, for most of next week, my blog will be taken over my a few bloggers and non-bloggers in a project I'm hosting called "Just You" where they showcase an outfit or multiple outfits that screams out them! The feature is going to start on the 16th, Sunday, next week. I'm pretty excited about it all and I'm hope you all will be to!

More good news, Toffee Nut Latte is now available in all Starbucks branches all over the Kingdom. Grab your cup now, and keep it skinny!

Have a great day everyone! :)

Good Skin in Casual

October 27, 2014

The one thing I noticed while I was in Dubai for the weekend was the fashion ads. I am unsure whether it was for the Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience event ads or just a random clothing store ad; I noticed that the models had waaay too much make up on, and their hair just didn't go with the entire look and theme of the ad.

It's not just Dubai, it's here in Bahrain and I'm sure all around the middle east as well. I'm sorry but all these magazine clothing ads that are locally distributed look like their trying too hard. The big volumized straightened hair, the layers of foundation and eye shadow, and the highest skimpiest pumps. Honey, calm down.

I don't really have an a big issue with how magazines shoot their photos, it's the people who copy the models make up and hair that I have issues with.

When I used to go to uni, I would see women with at least 5 layers of foundation on their face that eventually made their it 5 shades brighter than their actual skin tone. That, along with winged eyeliner, a smoky eye, and a thick layer of lipstick they chose for the day. Honey, chill.

I know you want to look good but doesn't your face get, I don't know, too heavy to carry around all day with that many product stuck on to it?

You don't need to wear 10 layers of foundation and concealer to cover that zit that popped up this morning. Just lightly cover it with concealer, and if it still shows then whatever. That just proves you're human. It's okay to look crappy sometimes because we all have our crappy days/weeks. Plus, your face will thank you when you give it a chance to breathe under those layers.

Feel good in your own skin.
Look at yourself in the mirror and point out the clear soft skin instead of that zit or white head.

Have a wonderful day everyone!
