DIY Leave in Conditioner for Curly Hair

January 19, 2016

As you go through the blog, you'll notice that I have pretty curly hair, I mean how can you not notice it's pretty out there. I used to have long curly hair that was about half way down my back and maintaining it was always a challenge through the years. I went through quite a bit of hair products, I was what others called a product junkie, from oil's to leave in's to deep conditioner's that would sometimes leave my hair too moisturized leave me with that flat look, and sometimes would do absolutely nothing because the product wouldn't be strong enough. So, one day, I decided to make my own. I was done with all those branded hair products that make my hair feel more damaged than healthy, I was done with spending 30 minutes doing my hair, DONE!

DIY Leave in Conditioner for Curly Hair

This is a quick and easy Leave in Conditioner that contains mostly natural products that would help your curly hair get the moisture it needs.

Ingredients
2 tbls Conditioner (any conditioner of your choice, most preferably for curly hair)
1 tbls Coconut Oil
1 tbls Honey
1 tbls Argan Oil
2 tbls Water
5 drops of Essential Oils (scent of your choice, preferably something fresh)

Procedure
Add in all the ingredients and then stir until fully combined. Note: If the mixture feels too wet, then add more conditioner or honey. If it feels too thick, then add a few drops of water.

Once combined, transfer it onto a container or bottle; be them recycled or brand new, and you're done! It's pretty simple.

Now you can apply this leave-in evenly through your damp hair, preferably after you shower.

This recipe can last for about 2 to 3 weeks, depending on how many times you decide to wash your hair through the week.

When you have gaps between washing your hair, combine a dollop of this leave in with about 1/2 cups of water into a spray bottle to spray to bring those curls back to life.

This Leave in Conditioner literally saved my hair after I cut it into a bob. It keeps my hair moisturized, tamed, and flexible to style it any way I want to every morning. But honestly, I just leave it down and messy because my hair likes to roll that way.

Give this DIY Leave-in Conditioner a try and let me know how it goes. I'd love to hear your feedback.

Don't forget to flip your fabulous hair back and forth!

2016 Two Month Calendar Printables

December 29, 2015

A few days back I was looking at my desk calendar and realized that I didn't have one for 2016. So after a few hours of scrolling through various retail sites, I found that I didn't want to wait another three weeks for the calendar to get to me, I wanted one now; plus, why spend? Eventually, I came up with the solution to make one. I wanted a simple A6 desk calendar that I could easily customize with washy tape, color pencils, and post-its.

I made a very simple Two-Month Calendar and thought I'd share the printables all you stationary addicts out there. I have to be honest, though, I only made two months because it took me about an hour on each month, and other duties were calling. Nonetheless, here are the first two months of 2016 completely free for download.

For my International readers who start their week on a Monday
and for my local Bahrain readers who start their week on a Sunday.

The New Year is almost upon us, and what better way to start than with a brand new calendar!

Within the next two months, I'll probably be releasing another two month calendar for March and April. Fingers crossed.
Happy New Year, y'all!

Memory Jar of 2015

January 3, 2015

Happy New Year everyone!!!

I hope you are all feeling as refreshed as I am this new year. I feel like this year is going to be hella hectic yet memorable. It's going to be the year of changes and challenges. The year that will change the future! – or at least that's what we always say to ourselves when a new year rolls around.

Since I want to make this year a little different than the past, I decided to start a Memory Jar. Apparently these things have been going on since 2012 or 2013? or maybe even earlier. Why did I only find out about this now? Who knows. All I know is that the idea came at the right time. While stress, indecisiveness, regrets and doubts float about around me, this memory jar seemed to put all that negativity in it's right place.

A Memory Jar is pretty self explanatory. It's a jar filled with all your great memories of the year. Everyday, you can write one or more awesome memory you had that day, and at the end of the year, or the beginning of the next year, you lay out all your memories and read them. By doing this you will not only learn to appreciate the year you thought sucked but also the remember and reminisce on the good times you had during that year.

I spent a good 30 minutes trying to figure out what to use as a makeshift jar since Bahrain doesn't sell mason jars like they do everywhere else. Then I found this bottled starbucks frappuccino that I had lying around and thought "hmm...this will do". I genuinely like it.

Once you have acquired your mason jar or whatever jar you can find, you can now decorate it with some ribbon, string, and/or washy tape, and you're ready to start your writing your little good memories of the day. :)

I added a little bit of my own jam into the mix by writing "Brave"  in Khuzdul alphabets – Khuzdul is the fictional alphabet/language of the dwarves in Lord of the Rings created by J.R.R Tolkien. It fits with the earthy-toned theme doesn't it?

I also added a little paper of instructions incase I forget what to do because we all forget things sometimes. One can never be too careful.

Will you take part and make your own memory jar? It's fun, crafty, and gives us a way to remember the good times we had and wish for more just like it. It's still not too late to start since I started this only yesterday.

How was everyones New Years?
Not too hung over I hope.

DIY Christmas Card Ideas | Blogmas

Blogmas Day 9

Here are a few ideas to get you on the role and inspired! – some of course I had to pinterest but added in my own pazzaz to it.

I had to make these in a hurry because I had to attend a toastmaster meeting, and the theme was "Christmas Cards". So who gets to be in charge of Christmas card duties? Me! I need to make about 25 cards, and my table is surrounded with markers and cut out Christmas trees. I love DIYs.

Here are bunch of other ideas

Holiday Gift Wrap Ideas | Blogmas

December 8, 2014

Blogmas Day 8

*cue Christmas bells*

So, you've bought your Christmas gifts, and you've wrapped them. But some just looks too plain, and there is that one gift that's shaped like a cylinder and you have absolutely no idea what to do with it. Well, here are a couple of holiday gift wrap ideas to help you out.

For this boxed gift, I gave it that mistletoe feel by adding some fake leaves that was left over from when I made my flower crown, and wrapping it around with light brown string. Now all you need to do is hang it up and push two people under it – Now kiss!!

Now for those cylinder shaped gifts. I used this little trick to wrap it. Instead of just using recycled toilet paper tubes, kitchen roll tubes, or tubes from finished wrapping paper. I got some cardboard-like paper, or some plain wrapping paper and wrapped it around the tube so that it wouldn't looked too recycled – since some tubes have those annoying diagonal lines around it.

Then I tied it around with string, added some fake leaves, and topped it off with red ribbon for that holiday feel. DONE!

What do you all do to spice up your plainly wrapped gifts?

Tune in for the rest of Blogmas for more Holiday DIY's

Have a jolly day everyone!

DIY Paper Snowflakes | Blogmas

December 7, 2014

Blogmas Day 7

Yep, I've evolved into a DIY junkie. Everything I need, I think, "Can I make it myself instead of buying it?" These days you can google how to make absolutely anything and there is bound to be at least DIY tutorial for you to follow.

Just like when I googled – or more like pinterest'd, since I pinterest everything nowadays. And I just turned pinterest into a verb, yay! – DIY Snowflakes, I found a bunch of tutorials and patterns that I could follow. Some patterns are just too complicated, that I just end up making my own custom snowflake pattern. Like this:

But how did I make the snowflake in the first place? I made a simple collage for you all to follow. But instead of using a full A4 paper, I just cut the A4 in half, and ended up with A5 paper; which is what I started with.

If I had all the time in the world, I would make a bunch of these and fill the entire how with paper snowflakes. Right now, some of them are attached to my LED lights so that my room can feel wintery and Christmasy.

I even made tiny ones –which was quite hard to do by the way – that I just put inside a clear phone case so that my phone can join in on the fun and get that wintery feel.

This is the perfect activity to do with family and friends.
Remember to use recycling paper instead of the usual blank paper if you can. Let's at least try to contribute to keeping the environment clean – kind of.

Here are a few Snowflake patterns for y'all to copy off of:

Have a jolly day everyone!!

How to gift wrap | Blogmas

December 2, 2014

Blogmas Day 2

Happy Blogmas day 2! *cue Christmas music*

Since most of us have already done our Christmas shopping during Black Friday, all we need to do now is wrap them. Most of the people I know don't really know how to gift wrap. They always wrap it all weirdly with multiple pieces of wrapping paper sticking out everywhere around the box. So maybe you want to improve that way you wrap presents, so that your gift will be more appealing to the eyes and would make the receiver excited to find what's inside – I know I'd be super excited to receive a beautifully wrapped present.

Well you're in for a treat. Today, I bring to you all a simple DIY project, How to gift wrap.

Let's go for something simple, like a box. I got this Doctor Who mug for my sister – who's a Doctor Who fan here? Say "I" – for Christmas. She already knows that I got it for her so I wasn't too worried about her seeing this post. ehehehe

What you will need

1. A gift (preferably in a shape of a box)
2. Some wrapping paper
3. Tape
4. Scissors
5. Wrapping tissue (optional)

Step one (if you don't need to use wrapping tissue you can skip to Step 2): Stick the wrapping tissue around the mug so it'll be even more secure.

Step 2: Measure how much wrapping paper you need by wrapping the paper around the box. And cut.

It should look like this.

Step 3: Place the box in the bottom middle of the rectangular paper, but make sure to leave some space at the bottom.

Step 4: That space you left at the bottom, pull that over the box and tape it tight.

Step 5: Now flip it over so that the excess paper faces you and the one you just folded over faces outward. Then fold that excess paper that's facing you.

Step 6: Now take that folded part and pull it over the box.

Step 7: If there is a little bit of excess after you pulled it over the box, fold the paper once towards you to make kind of like a folded paper design.

Step 8: Now tape both sides

Step 9: (You can skip this step if you think everything looks perfect already) I just cut off the excess sides because it was too long to fold.

It should look something like this!

Step 10: On one side, fold the top bit of the wrapping paper down, and tape it.

Step 11: Now fold the flappy sides to make that one solo triangular flap.

Step 12: With the remaining triangle, fold the top to give it an even looking cut. Then fold it towards the box and tape.

Step 13: Now do the same thing on the other side and you'll end up with something like this!

Now for the finishing touches.
Add some ribbons and make it look puuuurdy

And you're done!
I hope you all have successfully wrapped your Christmas presents and I wish you luck on your future gift wrapping endeavors.
Remember, your wrapping doesn't have to be perfect, because in the end, it's what's inside that really matters. – plus they'll just rip away your hard work, BUT at least it looked BEAUTIFUL!

Have a jolly day everyone!
