Brightening Your Dark Mood

March 23, 2016

One of the fastest way to brighten up your bad mood is to brighten up someone else's. Make someone else feel good and the good vibrancy will flow right through you in return. It's an amazing phenomenon that feels almost addictive.

Something out of the blue happened a few weeks back. As my day went on as usual with many toastmaster meetings, outfit shoot's, and design work, I receive a message from a friend whom I've know for just a year. It was a voice note that melted my heart with kind words, enormous gratitude, and pure love. That message made my week a brighter one. It filled me with joy for as long as I can remember; and in fact, just thinking about it now just made the euphoria come fluttering back.

Their words made me realize that even if we don't really know each other, just the acknowledgement of one's hard work and an exchange of gratitude can really make a person's day a much brighter one. This makes me realize that there really are good people in the world. I just hope that my joy, happiness, and love was able to bounce back to them because they surely deserve it.

It puts me in awe that not many people do this. The world would be a much better place if we all acknowledge each's hard work and exchange a few words of gratitude. One bright light attracts the other, so why not let is shine for longer by just saying the words "Thank you."

So, if you find yourself needing to punch a wall with your dark mood, go right ahead and punch that wall. Then find a way to bring a little light to someone else's day. It could be a smile, a simple gesture of "after you", or saying a simple "thank you." They've got their own mind, body, and soul, and there is no reason to drag them down your dark rabbit hole. Be their sunshine of the day.

Be good to all! <3
