Reconnecting to You

April 4, 2016

Through the days of over-booked schedules and passing out once we reach sanctuary we call our beds, we tend to lose ourselves in the process of achieving our goals. That was one of my major fears of getting a real job that gets me out of the house from 7-5, 5 days a week. A real job in a real office with different kinds of people in one building. A real job that would literally suck the life out of me and make me forget who I was. The fear that I would be too tired to think of my dreams and just think of the duties that come with my real job. The fear that I would be too exhausted to reconnect my mind, body, and soul.

Through my 22 years, I've known a few people who would devote their lives to their job. There was a time when I would see them on a regular basis for coffee or dinner, but as they got their new jobs, I began to see less of them. When I do, they would always look so pale and drained, and all they would do is say how tired they were and how much work their bosses made them do. They would bring everyone down with their exhausted aura's and unmovable dreams of quitting and moving far far away.

Short Curly Locks

August 17, 2015

That one night I went to sleep with something amis, I awoke the next morning with a pure intention to chop my hair off. The last time I had hair this short, it was chemically straightened, rebonded, and it looked awful. I looked more like woman version of Georg from Tokio Hotel back in 2005 than anything else.

I've been wanting to try out short hair for a while and that morning I finally did. I called up my hair stylist and booked an appointment. A few hours later, I went in there and came out a changed woman. I was literally jumping for joy all the way home with how good the cut turned out.

The cut made me feel like I had a whole different purpose in life. It gave me a boost of confidence and a sigh of relief. It's more like the hairdresser chopped off my heavy heart and worries with every snip of the scissors and rubbed in some badass hair cream and gel with every stroke. Plus, this makes showers so much easier, and I get to experiment with styling.

Since my bright bottom bits were cut, I couldn't stand not having any blonde or light colors in my hair so I ended up bleaching some of my bottom layers. It makes me feel more me. Perhaps I'll dye them green again.

I honestly don't know what I was thinking with this outfit. That week was a major blur, but at least I got to relish in that good summer weather by sweating buckets and avoiding a farmers tan. My hat protected me from the sun rays – though I now wish I had taken it off to wave about my short curly locks.

Keep those smiles bright and stay fabulous, badasses!

A Hat's Fabulosity

May 27, 2015

There is something about this hat that makes me feel so fabulous. Maybe it's because I've never own one until now. I've always gone into stores that sell these type of hats like Forever 21 and H&M, and I would try them on, walk around the store with it, but never made any implication to actually purchase one.

When I went into that newly opened H&M store in SM Makati, Philippines, the inclination to shop 'till you're almost at the peak of your budget was there and so the need to purchase everything I lay eyes on was stirring. And then I saw a whole wrack of those hats and my heart leaped. My fingers twitched with every hat I picked up. I had to get one, I just hat to (pun-intended).

With my hair dyed dark purple; which I'm completely in love with by the way, it feels like an almost the perfect combo with the hat. It makes me think I look like a fabulous witch, but perhaps I'll need a bigger hat and brighter hair to actually look like one.

By the time you read this, I would most probably be in Dubai for yet another Toastmaster Convention. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for opportunities to take outfit photos while I'm there.

Find things that make you feel fabulous, and relish in that fabulosity.

Winter Beanies | Blogmas

December 14, 2014
Blogmas Day 14

There are so many type of beanies out there, and there are way too many to choose from. We've got those summer crochet type beanies, knitted beanies, fluffy beanies, and don't get me started on the ones with pom-poms or different knitted patterned ones. It feels like going to a store with a hat sale. Waaw who doesn't want that?

The best kind of beanies, in my honest opinion, are winter beanies. There was a time when my dad came home from China with a whole load of beanies and I had an abundant supply of them for a while. Until I decided to give some of them away or divide them with my sisters, so now I've got only about seven pieces. That still feels like a lot, but you can never have too many beanies, right?

Here are a few types of winter beanies to keep us warm throughout these cold december days and nights. Brrrr...

Oversized Fluffy Beanie

Cuffed Beret Fluffy Beanie

Slouchy Fluffy Beanie

Hipster Straight-up Beanie

Capped Beret Beanie

And my all time favorite Animal Beanies

Y'all may have noticed, some names of the beanies are made up. Despite the many options of beanies, most of them don't have names and people get confused when you ask the sales lady "Do you have a slouchy fluffy knitted beanie with a pom-pom?". Though being descriptive, the sales lady would probably look back at you with a blank expression.

But is there a proper list of beanies with their rightful names that I don't know about? If there is someone link it me.
What are you favorite type of beanies?
Let me know in the comments! :)
Have a jolly day everyone!
