The Little Things With Denim

August 24, 2015

With bright summer days comes bright hot humid days.

I enjoy summer, I really do. Just not when it's humid enough to get my glasses fogged up. It can get quite frustrating, especially when others laugh at how fogged up your glasses got. Sigh. But the heat gives me a solid excuse to wear dresses, so let's remember the good little things about living in this summer weather.

If you've been around the blog long enough, you'll have noticed this outfit before. I wore it during my Day in Italia post. I honestly didn't realize that I wore this outfit on the blog before, until I decided to look through my old posts – I knew this outfit looked familiar! Would I still wear this when I roam the streets of Rome? (lol) Yes, I would. Of course I would. It's simple, comfy, and stylish.

"Some say denim on denim can be, well, too much denim.
But I care not for what they say.
It's two shades of denim,
so that makes it okay.

Let's just sit back and appreciate the little things,
like the buttons of the denim shirt,
and the pattern of the denim dress,
Perhaps the streak of gold that lay on top of those sunnies,
that reminds us of a golden sunset on horizon upon the seas.

It's the little things that matter the most when all the big ones seem too dark.
It's the little things that help us see the light,
and appreciate the warmth it gives as we embark.

So think of the little things that could bright up your shadowed heart.
Even in this heat, there is always a way to find that spark. "
Stay hydrated, fabulous, and badass, my dears!

Short Curly Locks

August 17, 2015

That one night I went to sleep with something amis, I awoke the next morning with a pure intention to chop my hair off. The last time I had hair this short, it was chemically straightened, rebonded, and it looked awful. I looked more like woman version of Georg from Tokio Hotel back in 2005 than anything else.

I've been wanting to try out short hair for a while and that morning I finally did. I called up my hair stylist and booked an appointment. A few hours later, I went in there and came out a changed woman. I was literally jumping for joy all the way home with how good the cut turned out.

The cut made me feel like I had a whole different purpose in life. It gave me a boost of confidence and a sigh of relief. It's more like the hairdresser chopped off my heavy heart and worries with every snip of the scissors and rubbed in some badass hair cream and gel with every stroke. Plus, this makes showers so much easier, and I get to experiment with styling.

Since my bright bottom bits were cut, I couldn't stand not having any blonde or light colors in my hair so I ended up bleaching some of my bottom layers. It makes me feel more me. Perhaps I'll dye them green again.

I honestly don't know what I was thinking with this outfit. That week was a major blur, but at least I got to relish in that good summer weather by sweating buckets and avoiding a farmers tan. My hat protected me from the sun rays – though I now wish I had taken it off to wave about my short curly locks.

Keep those smiles bright and stay fabulous, badasses!

Radiating that Powerful Aura

August 3, 2015

Every outfit gives the wearer their own set of aura's. Whether they're wearing a chiffon top, patterned leggings and some flats or a summer dress with some sandals. Each and everyone has their own set of aura's and the outfit they feel good in manifolds those aura's to make them even brighter and stronger.

You see a woman pass by with her mid-length quarter sleeve blue A-line dress and her two-inch nude heels clicking on the tiled floor. She's holding her black clutch in one hand and sleek briefcase on the other. She isn't pacing passed you in a hurry, she's walking swiftly with grace and a smile on her face. What aura do you think is radiating off her? She could be radiating love, kindness, and creativity, but she could also be radiating power, intelligence, and sensitivity.

Either or how I described what she was wearing and the air of how she walked could make her aura twice as strong. You could be having a crappy day but when a person with so much goodness and confidence walks by you in an outfit that you think looks absolutely fabulous, the aura that they're radiating is so strong that you can soak it up.

So dress up in your best dress with your highest or most comfortable pair of footwear and become the person that radiates the aura so strong it'll get soaked up by everyone you pass. Go forth, confidently strut that badass booty and feel the independence and fierceness radiating off you like a bright light that could shun all darkness.

Stay true to you and be fabulous!
Have a badass Monday y'all!
