Is it Just Luck?

June 22, 2015

From breaking a mirror and getting 7 years bad luck to four leaf clovers. Luck. Good things happen right after the other, is that good luck? Do things just happen or is it just luck? Finding a penny on the street, is that good luck as well or something totally random? What is luck?

Recently, I had been sick with the flu. I still am. I blame my brother for it since he was sick about a week before I got the virus. And last night my fever spiked up and I would wake up every hour because it was too hot and because of my nightmares. Eventually I got up, grabbed a towel, some cold water, and put it on my head to cool my body down. About an hour later, my mom comes in and started to take care of me. Now is that luck that she came in while I was falling back to sleep?

Thankfully with the help of Google and Wikipedia, “According to the Webster’s dictionary, luck is defined as “a purposeless, unpredictable and uncontrollable force that shames events favorably or unfavorably for an individual, group or cause.”

So basically, it’s life, isn’t it? Events happen, whether it’s getting a parking space at a car park or tripping over your own feet, it’s up to us to interpret them as good luck or bad luck.

I could trip and drop my freshly brewed coffee on the street, I could either curse the world about it or just laugh and grab a new one or go without. Could it be bad luck that I dropped my coffee? Or good luck that I was able to grab a new one?

Do you believe in it? Do we believe in luck in general? Is it just a word that gratifies us into thinking that it’s just bad luck that sh*t’s going down, or good luck that really good things are happening to you?

This question has been bombarding my mind for a while now, so I want to know, what your thoughts are on luck.

Feel the Power and Be Free

June 15, 2015

You know that feeling you get after a long and very productive day? You get out of the office and look up for a bit then breathe in that most probably polluted air, and think "Freedom". It's one of the best feelings in the world – other than love, that is. It feels so good, so you walk down the street to either hale a cab, or get to your car, and your head is shuffling a million things that you could do within the next couple of hours before you have to turn in for the night. The adhrenaline is still flowing in your veins and you have this urge to do something despite the long day you've had.

So, go and be free. Get away from that stress, that anxiety, that drama, and be free. Take a stroll down a beach or a park. Run a mile, or two. Appreciate the scenery. Take a sip of a cold summer drink. Wear your favorite outfit. Smile your biggest smile. Hug someone so tight you the air comes right out.

Go, my feisty reader. Go and be great. Go and become the bravest and strongest of them all. Go and enjoy. Go and feel that good energy flowing, and that power running through your veins. Feel the power to become great, badass, and free, because that's what you are. Great, badass, and free to do absolutely anything. Tap into that badass, ambitious inner being of yours that is dying to come out, and unleash it from its cage. Let it roam free to live, and to love.

Go and be free, my darlings.

Mid-Year and Feeling Fabulous!

June 11, 2015

I'm gradually putting the pieces of my days back together. Making schedules, keeping to those schedules. Remembering my goals and taking on every opportunity that gets me closer to those goals. It's already June. We're half way into the year and it hella scares me to think of how much I've gotten done this year. How much of my New Years resolution did I tick off? How far have you gotten with your resolutions?

Okay. Let's not panic. It's going to be good. It will all be good. Let's not worry or think about all the things we need to accomplish. Let's all just sit back and enjoy every moment of the year. You see something that sparks an interest in you; a dish, an event, a person, go for it. Breathe in and just go for it. What's stopping you anyway?

A little bit about the outfit. Since it's scorching hot here in Bahrain, and most probably everywhere else in the world, I busted out this sleeveless button up that I bought while I was in Dubai for the Toastmaster conference last weekend – which went quite well, these conferences are always fun to go to. I paired the button up with my floral leggings which I adore to death because they're super comfy and my black flats. And, of course, I topped this look off with the an aura of fabulosity, which one should never forget to bring out the door with them. With the feeling of fabulosity comes the feeling of confidence and power to take on absolutely anything.
